This week, a couple of my friends from Shidler visited Japan after graduation, so we took a day trip to Kamakura, a small city located in the Kanagawa prefecture. It was roughly a 90 minute train ride from Shinjuku Station. There was lots to do, such as visit Hasedera Temple, Great Buddha, Enoshima, and ride the Enoden Line. We started off the day with a quick brunch at Cafe Yoridokoro, known for serving fish set meals next to the Enoden train tracks. Then, we visited Hasedera Temple and saw beautiful Hydrangea flowers in their Hydrangea Garden. Before leaving for Enoshima Island, we took a quick stop to see the Buddha at Kotoku-in Temple.

This week, I also had a really fluffy and juicy omurice meal at Ikura Shibuya. This restaurant is very popular in Fukuoka, so a location has been opened in Shibuya. The meal was very delicious, but a little pricey, costing close to 2,000 yen (~$14). I enjoyed the counter seating, as we were able to watch each meal being cooked in front, as the kitchen was right behind the counter.
